Unimore's administrative, teaching and research facilities are located mainly in the two cities of Modena and Reggio Emilia in the region of Emilia Romagna; there is a teaching office in the city of Carpi (Modena), and one in Mantua in Lombardy.
Located in the heart of Emilia Romagna, Modena and Reggio Emilia are an important link between northern and southern Italy and between Italy and the rest of Europe. They are 19 km apart and are connected via the rail network with trains leaving about every half hour and the A1 Milan-Naples highway. The city of Mantua is about 70 km from Modena and is connected to Modena via the railway line and the A22 Modena-Brenner highway.
Bologna Airport, located 39 km from Modena, 58 km from Reggio Emilia, 104 from Mantua, serves all major domestic and international routes.
