Other requirements:
For students who are not Italian nationals, possession of a language certification at B2 level or equivalent is required. This requirement can also be met by attending courses at the Linguistic Centre of the University of Pisa. A preferred qualification would be holding degrees in economic, scientific, or engineering fields.

Admission procedures

Admission is based on qualifications and exams. The following qualifications will be evaluated:

The oral test will be conducted online. It will assess the ability to express and understand in Italian concepts and notions related to the technical content of the Master’s. Topics covered will be based on foundational knowledge acquired during studies and/or work experience, complemented by an evaluation of the candidate's aptitude.

Educational goals

The “Lean 4 Smart Factory” Master’s aims to train professionals with advanced skills in applying Lean Production techniques and in the mindful use of digital technologies within Smart Factories. The specific educational objectives of the Master’s are divided into various areas, each aimed at developing distinctive skills that allow participants to contribute effectively to optimizing business processes and digital transformation of enterprises.
Participants will develop the ability to define strategies and plans for lean implementation, crucial for supporting management and business operations. By learning Lean Production 4.0/5.0 methodologies, they will be able to design, promote, and manage continuous improvement projects using advanced tools and technologies specific to Smart Factories, actively contributing to the digital transformation of the company.
The Master’s aims to develop a deep understanding of lean principles and techniques, with a “Customer Oriented” approach, to be disseminated and applied within organizations. Participants will become specialists in designing and implementing lean interventions, taking responsibility for improving business performance through operational efficiency and technological innovation.
