Non-EU students living abroad
For non-EU students living abroad, there is a remote Italian language test to be passed before proceeding with enrolment.
Possibility of taking the test remotely
To take the Italian language test remotely, you must register on the Universitaly portal and enter all the required information. You will be contacted by e-mail by the teacher with whom you will have to take the Italian language test, who will inform you of the day and the arrangements for taking the test.
The topics and contents of the test concern general culture, the ability to understand and reformulate a text.
Cases of exemption
You are exempt from the Italian language test and are not subject to the limit of places reserved for foreign citizens residing abroad (quota) in the following cases:
1. you are in possession of a five-year or four-year secondary education diploma obtained from Italian state and private schools abroad;
2. you have one of the final secondary school qualifications listed in the attachment;
3. if you have a certificate complementary to the final middle school qualification obtained in Argentina, certifying that you attended a course of study that includes Italian having been taught for at least five years;
4. if you have obtained a Diploma in Italian Language and Culture from the University for Foreigners of Perugia and Siena;
5. if you have obtained an Italian language proficiency certificate, at a level corresponding to C1 and C2 levels of the CEFR, issued within the CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) quality system, which brings together the current certifying bodies (University for Foreigners of Perugia, University for Foreigners of Siena, Roma Tre University and Società Dante Alighieri), also in agreement with Italian Cultural Institutes abroad or other entities.
You are exempt from the Italian language test, but subject to the limit of places reserved for foreign citizens residing abroad (quota) in the following cases:
1. obtained Italian language proficiency certifications in grades no lower than level B2 of the CEFR, issued within the CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) quality system, which brings together the current certifying bodies (University for Foreigners of Perugia, University for Foreigners of Siena, Roma Tre University and Società Dante Alighieri), also in agreement with Italian Cultural Institutes abroad or other entities.
These certifications can be obtained in the country of origin, in affiliated examination centres present throughout the world.
2. if you enrol in a degree programme taught entirely in English.
